  • Office staff and crews are being monitored daily for symptoms and/or known exposure by management and asked to go home, contact their healthcare provider, and self-quarantine as directed. Staff that experience symptoms and/or aware of exposure when not at work have been directed to stay home and notify their supervisor.
  • Office staff and crews are receiving daily briefings on precautionary measures and have been directed to follow them on and off the job.
  • Office staff and crews are being instructed to maintain appropriate “social distance” of 6 feet minimum between one another, customers, and all other people.
  • Office staff and crews are being provided with appropriate hand sanitizer and surface disinfecting supplies. They have been directed to disinfect truck cabs and moving equipment between each move to the best of their ability. These supplies will continue to be replenished as we are able, based on availability from retailers.
  • We are limiting visitation to our branch offices. If you wish to purchase moving boxes or supplies, please simply call in your order and we will happily deliver to your vehicle outside.

We are all in this together.  The team at Hansen Bros. and Portabox is proud to continue offering our services in accordance with the necessary precautions outlined above. We are here to make the process of storing belongings seamless & safe for you.

Everyone knows that the easiest and the most convenient way to remove some mess out of your home is to rent affordable temporary storage Seattle. However, the five solutions we are about to share aren’t the ones people usually think about.

First things first – declutter

We have to begin by addressing the elephant in the room – the overwhelming number of items you have in your home. When our shopping habits get out of control (which happens to the majority of the population), we are bound to find ourselves feeling claustrophobic in our own homes. So do yourself and your family a huge favor and finally get rid of those unnecessary items. Whether you throw them away, donate them, or put them in self storage Bothell is up to you. Just clear some of the mess out of your house, after which you can immerse yourself in creative home organization solutions.

Creative and budget-friendly home organization solutions

An organizer next to flowers.
Sit down, make a home organization plan and get to work.

Every solution that aims to organize the growing clutter in your home will be the right one. So if you have an idea of how you would like to organize your living space without breaking the bank, we strongly encourage you to do it. However, if you don’t consider yourself a creative person and have no idea how you could use the available space, here are a few suggestions:

1. Baskets and bins

Think of baskets and bins as the holy grail of home organization tools. They can fit into pretty much any corner of your apartment, home, office, or Kirkland self storage unit. That makes them your number one ally when it comes to your efforts of making your household space more livable. One of the greatest things about baskets and bins is their price. They are under $15, making them affordable, convenient, and effective for all intents and purposes. With so many different styles and shapes, you’ll always be able to match them with the rest of your decor.

2. Shelves

Home shelves in living room.
Shelves are an amazing way to organize your pantry, living room, and bedroom.

Baskets, bins, and shelves should be the home-organizing solutions with a presence in every house. The appeal of shelves is in their versatility. They can come in many different styles and colors, which means that they can fit any wall in any room. From placing books and candles on them in the living room to putting your toiletries in the bathroom, shelves are a powerful tool with the ability to transform any part of your home. Bear in mind that they are a great household as well as a business storage solution, so you can purchase them for your office, as well.

3. Ladders

Is your home a vintage wonderland? Then when it comes to the best budget-friendly home organization solutions, there’s no doubt that an old ladder will be the perfect match for you. Don’t get us wrong – we are not suggesting that you go to your backyard, fetch your rusty ladder, and throw it inside your living room. But you could paint the ladder in a color that would fit with the rest of the room, place vent grates to form shelves, and mount the ladder to the wall.

Voila – you get a perfect storage space where you can put miscellaneous items, and you get it for a small price. All that was necessary was some effort on your part.

4. Glass storage jars

In recent years, glass storage jars have become the popular solution for the storage of different knick-knacks, and for a good reason. These jars can be used for a variety of different items, from pasta to your craft materials and supplies. They are small, affordable, and handy – what’s not to love? Glass storage jars range anywhere from $3 to $6, and they can come with lids in different colors.

Obviously, you have the opportunity to choose the design that works best for you. We always suggest that you label your containers, and we are going to go with the same advice here. Even though these jars are clear, it’s not unheard of for items to get buried under bigger items while in jars. You might search for them for days.

5. Trays

A tray with items in it, next to a plant.
Trays can even be a great decorating piece.

Have you ever walked into someone’s home and saw a bunch of items on one tray? That tray wasn’t organized like that by accident. Grouping items in a tray is one of the best and most budget-friendly home organization solutions that we can think of. Let us walk you through the process. All you have to do is fill the trays with small cups or bowls. Then take smaller supplies (like rubber bands and paper clips) out of their bulky packaging and place them inside the cups/bowls. Put the tray on a surface that works best for you and enjoy your smart and affordable storage solution.

How big of a budget do you need for these home organization solutions?

That depends. Some of them you can make by yourself for free. Others will cost anywhere from a few dollars to $20. The bottom line is that none of these budget-friendly home organization solutions is going to put a strain on your bank account. Whether you need to store Seattle packing materials, rubber bands, or bathroom toiletries, you have the perfect solution hidden here. We gave you the ideas that you were looking for, and now it’s up to you to apply them. And, of course, don’t be afraid to come up with your own storage solutions. We know that you can do it.
